Nyckelharpa Workshop • Swedish Tune Workshop • Guitar DADGAD
The nyckelharpa is the most ethereal of instruments, nearly lost to the world but kept safe in a small region of Sweden. This wonderful instrument is now coming to Twickfolk. The UK nyckelharpa project’s aim is to take nyckelharpas around the country and conduct workshops introducing as many people to this wonderful instrument as possible. If you’ve seen a nyckelharpa and would like a go, this workshop is for you. For two hours you’ll get to be up close and personal with a nyckelharpa and learn a few simple tunes.
A second workshop afterwards is aimed at people learning some Swedish tunes.The second workshop is open for any instrument capable of playing D/G and you don’t need to have been to the nyckelharpa workshop to attend. Numbers are limited for the nyckelharpa workshop so book up early to ensure your place. This workshop is currently the only planned workshop in the London region in 2014, so book up now!
The third workshop is led by Jonny and is for DADGAD guitar.
